A woman had to be taken to a place of safety by officers after she was threatened last night at a property in Stokes Croft.
This afternoon (Monday, September 22), Avon and Somerset Police were called to the area and attended at around 2.45pm.
A witness said there was activity behind The Love Inn bar and armed police were on the scene.
The woman has been safely taken into the care of the police.
Two men were arrested and taken into police custody.
Police said it is believed there is no ongoing risk to the public and is asking anyone with information to call police.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “Two men have been arrested following an incident overnight in Bristol.
“This afternoon we were called and received a report that a woman had been threatened last night at a property in Stokes Croft.
“She has been safely taken into the care of officers.
“Officers are at the scene conducting enquiries and two men are in police custody.
“We do not believe there is any ongoing risk to the public and anyone with information are urged to call police on 101 quoting 5225266754.”
