A driver was assaulted in Bristol yesterday (Tuesday) after being chased by a gang of bikers and then crashing his car.
The incident was reported at around 3.40pm, in Parson Street, in the Bedminster area.
The motorbikes were chasing a Honda Civic, which then crashed into a taxi.
The Honda driver left his vehicle and was then assaulted by several of the bikers before everybody involved in the fracas fled the scene.
The car was left abandoned in the road. Members of the motorcycle gang responsible for the attack are yet to be identified.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “We received a number of calls relating to an incident in south Bristol, in which motorcyclists were reportedly in pursuit of a Honda Civic yesterday (Tuesday 22 April).
“The car was subsequently involved in a collision with a taxi at about 3.40pm in Parson Street.
“The driver left the vehicle and was assaulted by several individuals on the motorbikes, before they all fled the scene.
“Officers attended and found the Civic abandoned in the road.

They spoke with witnesses and enquiries were carried out to identify the victim, who was located safely at about 5.10pm.
“He was taken to hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening or life-changing.
“The taxi driver was physically unharmed.
“Enquiries to identify and locate the offenders are ongoing.
“Anyone with information, or footage of the incident, is asked to call 101 and quote reference number 5225112971.”
