A teenage girl said she stepped in to help two men covered in blood outside her home in the early hours of Tuesday morning after hearing them shout: “I’ve been stabbed, help.”

One man was killed and another two remain in hospital with life-threatening injuries following the alleged attack in Rhydyfelin. Three people have been arrested as part of a murder investigation launched by South Wales Police.

Naomi Evans, 19, was settling down for the night after having just moved into her new flat hours prior, when she could hear people yelling outside her home. This shouting turned out to be to cries for help, she says, after hearing one man call out: “I’ve been stabbed, help.”

Naomi grabbed two hand towels from her home before racing outside at around 12.40am, which is when she found two men in their 20s injured inside a car while a woman passenger watched on in horror.

Naomi said she held one of the men in her arms while trying to put pressure on his wounds. She said he told her: “Please help me, I’m going to die.”

Naomi continued: “I move into my flat yesterday and I was just sat there when I could hear people shouting. I looked out the window and I could see people in the car and then I heard them screaming ‘I’ve been stabbed, help.’

“So I dropped everything and grabbed two hand towels and ran out to see to the passenger. He wasn’t bleeding that badly but I saw there was another boy in the back of the car.

“I put the seat forward so I had more room in the back and I was just holding him in my arms and keeping pressure on his wounds.

“He was saying ‘Please help me, I’m going to die.’ We were there for about five minutes. It was gut wrenching.”
