Style inspiration from Kate Middleton? Yes, please. Catherine, Princess of Wales is always a reliable source for anyone who loves classic chic yet trendy fashion – in fact, hardly anyone manages to achieve this balance as stylishly. In keeping with the start of autumn, Kate has opted for the biggest boot trend of the season.

The princess opted for the boot trend of the season: chocolate brown, knee-high boots made from suede leather by Gianvito Rossi. The pointed toe and the tight yet slightly slouchy fit are also very on trend at the moment.

This is due to the resurgence of 70s fashion, which is currently bringing us the revival of all kinds of boho trends and making suede leather the most popular material of the moment. Be it blazers, jackets, bags – and even boots. We also have the decade’s comeback to thank for the earth tones that are currently so ubiquitous – so it’s no wonder that (dark) brown is almost as popular as black at the moment.

Kate Middleton is also reviving the 70s when it comes to styling her boots.

The royal style icon opts for a cropped jacket in dark green – also made of suede –, a scarf in the same shade tied in a flared style (very 70s!) and a brown skirt in her beloved midi length.

By the way: the combination of knee-high boots plus a midi or midaxi skirt à la Princess Kate is a fashion lifesaver in autumn and winter, especially on extremely cold days. Thermal leggings and wool socks can easily be hidden under the skirt and boots without ruining the look.
