New purpose-built theatre, café and creative space The Glitch has opened in London’s Waterloo.

The new venue is run by VAULT Creative Arts, the team behind the former London fringe VAULT Festival.

Their first full-length show will be the world premiere of The Watch, written by Isabella Waldron, a Papatango Prize semi-finalist.

Directed by Merle Wheldon (John Fernald Award winner), The Watch is playing at The Glitch from 28 May to 9 June 2025.

The drama stars Ciana Howlin (Fair City, RTÉ; Dance with Death, BBC; Strike!, Southwark Playhouse) as Hannah, and Kate Crisp (The Winter’s Tale, The Globe; The Sob Centre, The Pleasance; How To Kill Foxes, Drayton Arms) as Zoe.

Joining Merle Wheldon in the creative team are set design by Isabella Sarmiento Abadia, lighting design by Jack Hathaway and sound design by Yanni Ng.

The Watch fuses a tender romantic comedy with dreamlike storytelling, exploring the delicate dance between time, intimacy, and identity.

In the play, when insomniac Hannah meets clockmaker Zoe, days blur into nights, reality gives way to desire, and love becomes both fleeting and infinite, unravelling a profound exploration of trust, timing, and the art of letting someone in.

The Watch is produced by Chris Edge, and is running at The Glitch in London from 28 May to 9 June 2025.
