A huge crowd gathered in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle this evening after house music star MK announced a secret pop-up gig in the city. The American DJ and producer, whose real name is Marc Kinchen, had been teasing fans with cryptic messages on social media in the days leading up to the event.

On his Instagram, he has been urging his 337,000 followers to “Come Find Me” as part of a surprise release party for his new single of the same name. Known for hits like 17, Piece of Me, My Head is a Jungle, Dior, Rhyme Dust, and Chemical, MK’s announcement created significant buzz among Liverpool’s music lovers.

Fans were invited to pre-save the new track Come Find Me, after which they received a text message on Friday, September 26, revealing the secret location of the event. The venue details were unveiled at 5.45pm, leaving fans just 15 minutes to make their way to the site.

The event took place at BOXPARK, where long queues quickly formed outside. Admission was free but restricted to those aged 18 and over. MK’s team also reminded attendees to “please be on your best behaviour and respect the local community.”

Earlier in the day, MK shared on social media that he was flying to Liverpool with Jet2 and told BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast Show host Greg James, “I’m off to Liverpool,” heightening anticipation for the surprise performance.

This marks MK’s return to Liverpool after a November 2024 appearance at Blackstone Street Warehouse, where he teamed up with local events organisation Circus for another memorable set.

The surprise gig comes after fans spent this morning trying to secure tickets for a completely different genre of music. Thousands of fans said they “won the war” today, securing My Chemical Romance tickets for Liverpool.

The huge US band will bring their Black Parade tour to Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium on Tuesday, June 30. My Chemical Romance will join huge stars such as Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen and Dua Lipa, who have all headlined Anfield Stadium in recent years.

The band, who are known for hits such as Teenagers, The Black Parade, and I’m not Okay (I Promise), recently announced two shows at Wembley Stadium for July 2026.

The group is formed of vocalist Gerard Way, lead guitarist Ray Toro, rhythm guitarist Frank Iero and bassist Mikey Way.

My Chemical Romance last performed in the UK as part of their reunion tour in 2022 and so fans were eager today, Friday, September 26 to get their hands on whatever tickets they could when they went live at 12pm.
