An Edinburgh restaurant has been named as the number one for Fine Dining in the UK.
Receiving the accolade from Tripadvisor, The Witchery, came out on top in the category which celebrates some of the best restaurants in the country in 2025.
It is part of the review site’s Travellers’ Choice: Best of the Best Restaurants 2025 awards, which celebrate the highest-rated dining destinations around the world.
In the UK, restaurants have been represented through a number of categories, like Pet-Friendly, Vegan & Vegetarian and even the best when it comes to date night spots.
And in its Fine Dining category for the UK, the Italian eatery was crowned as the best in class.

It’s a huge accolade, which sees the Best of the Best title given to those who receive a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period.
TripAavisor, described The Witchery as: “Situated in a historic setting (with the dramatic decor to match), the Witchery Restaurant is surely worth a stop. Fresh fish and creative cocktails are menu highlights, but be sure to save room for dessert—diners say it’s out of this world.”

Rhubarb in the capital also made the top ten, with Tripadvisor describing the classy venue as: “The Restaurant at Prestonfield, is a beautiful spot, with sweeping views and some of the best local food around. The menus got everything from classic Scottish mains to unique modern takes (don’t skip dessert). Service is attentive and friendly, and the dining rooms feel both relaxed and luxe.”
