Manchester United are reportedly already putting several plans in place for the January transfer window.
United are still reeling from their fourth defeat of the season, a 3-1 defeat away at Brentford on Saturday afternoon. The loss came after the Reds managed to beat Chelsea last week, but they could not build on that foundation and missed out on getting another win under their belts.
The defeat has piled further pressure on Ruben Amorim’s position as United head coach, but it’s not stopping transfer rumours doing the rounds going into the January transfer window.
The midfield has been an area of the squad that is deemed to be in need of reinforcements since the summer window slammed shut at the start of September.
Brighton star Carlos Baleba has been heavily linked with a move to United over the last few weeks. However, it seems that the Reds have a plan in place to pursue a different midfielder should they fail to sign the Seagulls star, who is said to be valued at around £110million.
The Express have reported that Atletico Madrid star Conor Gallagher is a target for United. The report claims that the former Chelsea midfielder is a ‘Plan B’ for United in the event they fail in their efforts to bring Baleba to Old Trafford.
It has been reported that Atletico value Gallagher at around £50million ahead of the January transfer window. Gallagher signed for the La Liga outfit in the summer of 2024 from Chelsea for a reported fee of around £36million.
