A lorry crash has forced TWO major Glasgow motorways to shut down this evening.
Emergency crews are currently in attendance on the M8 near the M77 following a collision which occurred around 5.30pm.
A lorry reportedly shed its load of timber before crashing during peak rush hour.
Police have shut down the M8 at junction 22 eastbound and have partially closed westbound.
Meanwhile the M77 is closed northbound on approach to the M8.
Police, fire crews and paramedics have been spotted at the scene.
Images shared via Traffic Scotland cameras show the lorry inbetween several lanes on the motorway.
Traffic Scotland have confirmed the road remains shut as of 9.45pm with images from the seen showing hundreds of pieces of timber wood scattered across the carriageway.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Emergency services are in attendance following a report of a lorry shedding its load and crashing on the M8 near the M77, which was reported around 5.30pm on Tuesday, 30 September, 2025.
“The M8 at junction 22 is closed eastbound and partially closed westbound, whist the M77 is closed northbound on approach to the M8.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the area and are thanked for their patience.”
