The Cure have dropped a massive announcement that they will be performing four major summer shows next year – which includes one night at Wythenshawe Park.

The iconic rock band are set to perform at Wythenshawe Park on August 21, 2026, which will mark their first Manchester gig in ten years since their last performance in 2016.

Formed in Sussex in the late 70s, The Cure is made up of current bandmates Robert Smith on vocals, Simon Gallup on bass, Roger O’Donnell on keyboards, Jason Cooper on drums, Perry Bamonte on guitar and keyboards, and Reeves Gabrels on guitar.

The Cure performed their first show in 1978, followed by nearly 1,800 concerts worldwide in the years since, as well as 14 studio albums, more than 40 singles and a collection of concert films.

In addition to the Manchester gig at Wythenshawe Park, the band will also perform in Dublin, Belfast and Edinburgh between June and August next year.

Recent performances at Live from Wythenshawe Park, which boasts a capacity of up to 36,000 people, include the likes of Sam Fender, New Order, and Fontaines D.C.

Joining The Cure in Manchester will be fellow British rock band Slowdive and Manchester’s own The Slow Readers Club, who are known for their anthemic blend of indie and electro-driven rock.

In addition to these four newly announced gigs, the rock band are set to perform at the Isle Of Wight Festival on June 18, 2026.
