Newcastle United fell to defeat on Sunday afternoon, but former Magpies midfielder Sean Longstaff enjoyed a strong weekend.
Eddie Howe suffered a heartbreaking defeat as Newcastle United lost 2-1 to Arsenal on Sunday.
The Magpies took a 1-0 lead in the first half, but ended up losing to a late Gabriel Magalhaes winner.
Newcastle are still stuck on just one Premier League win from the first six games, with Howe looking for more victories in the coming weeks.

Newcastle’s difficult weekend was a far cry from Sean Longstaff’s experience with Leeds United.
Longstaff joined Leeds in a £12million move over the summer and has established himself as a regular at Elland Road.
Leeds drew 2-2 with Bournemouth and were mere moments away from victory before Eli Junior Kroupi grabbed a late leveller.
Longstaff enjoyed a fantastic afternoon, though, as he recorded a goal and an assist in the 2-2 draw.
That display means Longstaff is now challenging Manchester City hitman Erling Haaland for a Premier League accolade.
Longstaff has been nominated for Player of the Matchweek on the official Premier League website.
Haaland, Aston Villa’s Emiliano Buendia, Crystal Palace’s Daichi Kamada, Arsenal’s Declan Rice, Sunderland’s Robin Roefs, Brentford’s Igor Thiago and Brighton’s Danny Welbeck are also nominated.
Haaland is running away with the vote right now, but Longstaff sits third on 13% of the vote, just behind Declan Rice.
Longstaff may have left Newcastle, but Magpies fans will still wish him all the best away from St James’ Park.
Sean Longstaff earning praise after Leeds United display
Longstaff took to social media to react after his performance against Bournemouth, admitting that it was a ‘brilliant feeling’ to open his goalscoring account.
Former Newcastle ace Paul Dummett said ‘love it son’, while ex-Magpies striker Dwight Gayle showed his support as well.
Leeds team-mate Joe Rodon added ‘what a player’, with Kalvin Phillips, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Largie Ramazani also offering praise.
Longstaff appears to have settled right in at Leeds, and he will hope to continue making the most of his move after the difficult decision to leave Newcastle.
