The community council. meets on 6 October at 7pm at Gorgie and Palmerston Place Church.

Some of the matters on the agenda include the knocked over headstones in Dalry Cemetery.

North-South Trams – public meeting

The Drylaw/Telford Community Council is holding a public meeting when local people can find out more about the proposed extension to the tramline. The only point on which the project is undecided is which route to take from the city centre to Granton. The line will either pass down Orchard Road having crossed the Dean Bridge or it will use the former railway line from Roseburn – where there is a purpose built connection to Granton.

There is no discussion on the southern route which will take the tram over North Bridge and out to the BioQuarter.

Everyone is invited to have their say on the tram consultation which is running here until 17 November.

The Edinburgh Library of Things

If you need something but dont want the expense of buying right now then you can use The Edinburgh Library of Things. They explain what they do: “A library of things works similarly to your normal libraries. Except instead of storing and lending books it stores and lends things.

“Sometimes these libraries might specialise in particular types of items such as tools, instruments, or board games.

“Other times these libraries might be more general and stock a wide variety of items for hobbies, jobs, and events. That’s us!”

The terms are simple and the cost is very reasonable.
