TRISHA Goddard says she is going into the house as someone with cancer as she wants to encourage others with disease.

She urged them “not to be so scared of dying you become scared of living”.

The chat show queen was diagnosed in 2022 and, although it is now incurable, it is treatable and she has regular bouts of gruelling chemo.

But Trisha, 67, insisted her cancer should not be described as “terminal” but as “life-limiting” — and she does not want anyone feeling sorry for her.

She added: “I’ve got a bet on with my husband someone will tell me about a loved one with it.

“Someone will do the pity thing.

“Someone will suggest some alternative medicine.

“I could play bingo with the audience — they can tick those off as people say it.”

She says she turned down the show before as she did not have a reason to go in.

But, this year, she said: “I’m in the house to get my message across.”

Trisha Goddard returns to ITV as Good Morning Britain hostTrisha Goddard at the National Television Awards.
