A total of three high-res cameras
The Honor Magic V Flip 2 has two cameras on the back – a 200MP primary and a 50MP ultrawide camera. There is a 50MP selfie camera on the other side, too.
- Wide (main): 200MP (1/1.3, 0.6µm), f/1.9, 24mm, multi-directional PDAF, OIS; 4K@60fps
- Ultrawide: 50MP, f/2.0, 13mm, autofocus; 4K@60fps
- Selfie (internal) camera: 50MP, f/2.0, 21mm, autofocus; 4K@60fps
Photo quality
The primary camera, thanks to its plenty of megapixels, supports in-sensor zoom up to 4x.
The default 24mm shots are exemplary across the board – detail, colors, contrast, noise reduction, dynamic range. If the colors are too vibrant for you, there is also a Natural color filter, which delivers a bit muted but very much true to life colors. We used the default (vivid) mode for all photos.
The 2x zoomed photos offer the same superb quality as the default 1x shots.
The 4x zoomed photos look like an AI upscale from the 2x ones, with some loss of detail and overcompensation from the algorithm at times (mostly on foliage). Still, those are some incredibly solid shots that will be more than enough for the mainstream user.
The ultrawide photos are very good – sharp and detailed, with commendable color reproduction and dynamic range.
Taking photos of people, be it in the default or portrait mode, brings nothing but excellent quality. Just point and shoot, and enjoy natural bokeh, very well presented subject, and some cool filters for the portrait mode if that’s your thing.

Finally, the selfie camera also captures lovely photos with well-focused subjects and outstanding global image properties.
Let’s talk about the nighttime photos now.
The main camera takes excellent pictures with a lot of fine detail, well-developed shadows, plus well-contained light sources, proficiently cleaned noise, and true-to-life colors.
The 2x zoomed photos are of similar quality, but there is a minor drop in the detail and the global sharpness.
The 4x zoom option delivers digital zoom by crop and upscale, nothing to talk about, really.
Finally, the ultrawide photos are likable for their clean look, good color saturation, and wide dynamic range. They have no observable noise, though the noise reduction did take some fine detail and is responsible for this sort of washed-out look. The contrast could have been a notch higher, too. Still, all things considered, some solid shots as well.
Video recording
All three cameras on the Honor Magic V Flip 2 support up to 4K60 video capturing. The audio is always captured stereo with 256Kbps, and there is always on electronic stabilization that works amazingly well.
You can check out the playlist below, which includes multiple video samples.
The video quality of the main camera is great with plenty of detail, realistic dynamic range, no visible noise, and excellent colors. Unfortunately, high-res zoom is not available here and opting for 2x magnification will save an upscaled video with poor detail.
Also, the low-light videos from the main camera look great.
The ultrawide-angle footage is alright – the detail is adequate, the colors are realistic, the noise is low and the contrast is high.
