Meghan Markle stepped out in style as she arrived at the Time100 Summit in New York yesterday, wearing a light brown suit from one of her favourite designers, Ralph Lauren. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, was beaming, as she stunned in a set of wide-leg silk trousers and a matching silk and linen blazer costing £3,685.
Underneath the rolled-sleeved jacket, she wore a white blouse tucked into the loose-fitting and wide-leg trousers. The mother-of-two also wore a special item gifted by King Charles – a Bentley & Skinner diamond tennis bracelet worth at least £4,900. The piece, which was first worn on the eve of her wedding to Prince Harry, was first created by royal warrant holders Bentley & Skinner. It features ninety-two round brilliant cut shimmering diamonds.
To complete her outfit, Meghan paired the set with a £135 Veronica Beard brown belt and £370 Stuart Weitzman suede heels. Meghan left her long brown locks in loose waves around her face, and many online social media users have commented on a suspected new hair colour. She arrived at Jazz at Lincoln Center with her husband, Prince Harry who was wearing a suit.
Speaking on stage with Jessica Sibley, the chief executive officer of Time, Meghan was asked about her own “confessions.”
“A confession for you today that I can very comfortably say is that I’m the happiest I’ve ever been,” Meghan said. “To have a partner and a husband who is so supportive and have healthy kids who are so joyful…I never would have imagined at this point I would feel so happy and grateful, and I really do.”
The Duchess of Sussex also spoke about being a working mum and revealed that her eldest, Prince Archie, is due to lose a tooth soon. She said: “I just hope I’m back home in time for it!”
Meghan has also been on the receiving end of negative criticism for her business ventures, including her Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, her brand As Ever and her podcast series, Confessions of a Female Founder.
During her speech on Wednesday, the Duchess talked about her critics and said, “I tune out the noise”.
When asked how she stays “focused” while being a high-profile individual who is under “scrutiny”, the duchess said she does not go online.
She said: “I’ve made a very, very conscious effort to create boundaries for myself and for my mental health, for my wellbeing, and certainly to role model that as well for my children.”
