Rail services between London Waterloo and Surrey will remain disrupted until the end of Friday after a major incident led to power being turned off to allow emergency services on to the track.
National Rail said it happened at about 15:44 BST between Wimbledon and Woking, with services to Effingham Junction and Hampton Court also affected.
The line has now reopened, but services are running up to 90 minutes late.
Because of the level of disruption passengers travelling between Waterloo, Guildford, Woking and Salisbury have been told they can source their own taxis and reclaim the cost from South Western Railway.
