Giorgi Mamardashvili issued a defiant message after Liverpool were handed their third consecutive defeat on Saturday. The Reds were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge as they dropped below Arsenal in the Premier League table.
Arne Slot’s side have now lost three matches in a row after the defeat to Chelsea, having also been beaten by Crystal Palace and Galatasaray over the last week. Liverpool now go into the October international break looking to rest up ahead of returning to top-flight action against Manchester United later this month.
Mamardashvili was handed his Premier League debut for Liverpool as he started between the posts at Stamford Bridge. The Georgia international, who arrived from Valencia in the summer, was named in the starting line-up by Slot due to Alisson Becker being on the sidelines through injury.

After the game, Mamardashvili took the opportunity to send a message to Liverpool fans.
“The result wasn’t what we deserved, but every experience makes us stronger,” Mamardashvili wrote on Instagram to his 730,000 followers. “Today I made my Premier League debut, living a childhood dream. The first of many. Just trust the process.”
Mamardashvili will be expected to continue in goal after the international break, with Alisson set to be on the sidelines recovering from a hamstring injury. Alisson picked up the injury in the defeat to Galatasaray in the Champions League, with the club yet to put an exact timeframe on a return.
