Liverpool suffered a third consecutive defeat as they were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea on Saturday.
The hosts took the lead at Stamford Bridge when Moises Caicedo unleashed a stunning strike beyond Giorgi Mamardashvili, but Cody Gakpo drew the Premier League leaders level after the break.
The match looked to be heading for a draw until added time, when teenage substitute Esteban Willian slid in to grab his first goal for the club and ensure victory for Enzo Maresca’s side.
That result means Liverpool sit second in the top flight standings, while the Blues occupy seventh spot.
Next up for the Reds is a game against rivals Manchester United after the international break, but in the meantime it has been revealed that the Premier League champions are in talks to extend one of their most important player’s contract.
According to Football Insider, the Merseyside giants are in discussions with defender Ibrahima Konate about a new deal.

The Frenchman’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and he has been heavily linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Konate, 26, joined Liverpool from German side RB Leipzig in 2021 and has since made more than 140 appearances for the club across all competitions.
He has formed an impressive partnership with Virgil van Dijk, and was instrumental in helping Slot’s side to lift the Premier League title last term.
Konate’s contract is set to expire in a matter of months, though, and he would currently be available to sign a pre-contract agreement with any club outside of England in January.
The report claims, however, that the Reds are hoping to end speculation surrounding the player’s future by agreeing a new long-term deal with the centre-back.
