Merseyside Police were called to the Pier Head on Saturday after a body was found in the water. Emergency services were called at around 1pm on Saturday, October 4, to reports of a concern for safety of a man.

When officers arrived at the scene they found a man in his 70s dead in the River Mersey at Pier Head. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police say. Anyone with information should contact police via X @MerPolCC or on Facebook ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’.
