A bakery which routinely boasts queues down the street admits its been “keeping a little secret” from everyone. Pastille Bakery is nestled within a warehouse unit on Gibraltar Row, tucked away amidst industrial estate and a number of car parks, described as ‘the epitome of a hidden gem’.
Pastille Bakery found its footing in the kitchen of founder Jamie Heffey’s home. With the help of his partner and mum, the three whipped up a storm to take tasty treats to markets and pop-ups where they continuously sold out.
Pastille Bakery opened its first fully realised venue in 2024. Despite its slightly off the beaten track location, it’s hugely popular – especially so when it announces collaborations with other bakers from across the region such as Manchester’s Finch Bakery or Liverpool’s Castro’s Cafeteria.
In a new venture for Pastille Bakery, the company is swapping buns for burgers as it heads into the takeaway business. A message from Pastille Bakery reads: “Psst, we’ve been keeping a little secret… And now it’s time to spill!”
