Prince Harry set to miss traditional Christmas gathering at Sandringham?
It appears Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won’t be joining the royal family at Sandringham this Christmas, as reports indicate they, and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have not been invited.
Though it is unsurprising, given their royal exit in 2020, it could still feel like a setback for the Duke of Sussex.
Yet, contrary to what many might believe, the 41-year-old Prince and youngest son of King Charles may not particularly feel hurt by being left out from the Royal gathering.
While Harry has taken steps forward to mend relationships with the 76-year-old monarch and tried to reconcile with him after an almost hour long meeting last month, the same can not be said about his relationship with other royal family members, like Prince William and his wife Princess Kate, and even their stepmother Queen Camilla.
In September, the Duke made headlines as he returned to the United Kingdom for a four day trip due to some engagements.
During his visit to the country, he reunited with his father after almost two years, after their previous meeting which dated back to February 2024, following the announcement of the Monarch undergoing cancer treatment.
An insider came forward and revealed to Vanity Fair that given Harry’s continued tensions with his elder brother Prince William, he would prefer not to be invited to Sandringham, calling the potential reunion “very awkward,” as Express UK reported.
“With things being so dire between William and Harry, I’m not sure Harry would even want to be at Sandringham for Christmas. It would be very awkward. He knows he’d probably get quite a frosty reception from most of the family,” the source stated.
The source also noted although King Charles and Harry had seemingly reconciled, the Duke of Sussex is still far from being welcomed to family occasions with “open arms.”
