Donald Trump has sparked speculation about his mortality after once again wrestling with thoughts of death and revealing his hopes of reaching heaven.

The president contended there’s “no reason to be good” without religion whilst responding to journalists’ questions at the White House on Monday, outlining his wish to prove to God that he deserves to reach “the next step”.

During an Oval Office gathering, where Trump mentioned he would “take a look” at pardoning convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, the president was quizzed about a presidential prayer initiative ahead of the nation’s 250th anniversary next year. The news comes as Trump will ‘take a look’ at pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell in extraordinary admission.

This follows Trump raising health worries with a peculiar text message interview on CNN.

It comes as Diddy requested the President for a pardon following his four-year sentence, reports the Mirror US.

“Talk to me about both of those events and why they’re so important, particularly the prayer initiative,” the reporter asked.

Trump replied: “We’re dealing – as you know – with all of the different – and not just evangelicals, Christians.

“We’re dealing with lots of different faiths, religions. And I felt for a long time that if a country doesn’t have religion, doesn’t have faith, doesn’t have God, it’s gonna be very hard to be a good country.”, reports the Irish Star.

He continued: “You know, there’s no reason to be good. I want to be good because you want to prove to God so you go to that next step, right? So that’s very important to me.”

His comments immediately triggered health worries as social media users began suggesting that Trump’s mention of the “next step” indicates the 79 year old may be approaching it.

“In our house, when an older person who has not previously been religious starts talking this way, attending church regularly, etc., we call it ‘cramming for the final exam,'” one user commented.

“I think he knows he’s exiting stage right soon,” another user speculated.

A third concurred, adding: “He knows he’s dying and thinks he can makeup for a life of evil by mentioning God a few times.

“He must be at death’s door. He never used to say stuff like this,” a fourth user observed.

Another remarked: “Ok now we know for sure his health is failing. Trump wants to go to that next step – Heaven – (but then he says he hates his enemies.) He’s going to need a needle with a huge eye and a tiny camel. God isn’t MAGA.”

Critics were swift to claim it was too late for Trump to pass through the pearly gates.

“Whatever is under hell dude that’s your next step,” one critic said.

“His escalator is getting stuck on the way up,” another wrote.

“Oh sweetie, you’re never getting there. Your escalator only goes down,” a third echoed.

Another added: “If you get to heaven, and you find Trump there, you have gone to hell, that’s not heaven.”

These remarks emerge just months after he also sparked speculation that he “knows he’s dying” following his admission that he’s “not doing well” regarding his prospects of entering heaven. In August, the president expressed his hopes that facilitating peace between Ukraine and Russia might improve his chances of reaching heaven.

“I want to try to get to heaven if possible, I’m hearing that I’m not doing well,” Trump confessed during an interview with Fox and Friends, just a day after he hosted European leaders, including Ukraine‘s Volodymyr Zelenskyy, at the White House.

“I am really at the bottom of the totem pole,” the president admitted. “But if I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons,” he added.
