Speaking in the Senedd, I called for a Welsh Government Statement on employment support for Disabled people in Wales, highlighting concern over the rollout of the UK Government’s ‘Connect to Work’ Programme in Wales, which has been devolved to Local Authorities.

Speaking in the Welsh Conservative Economy Debate, I referred to my warning before the introduction of the default 20mph Speed Limit in Wales that it would do little to reduce overall road casualties and to the latest Police recorded road casualties for January to March this year, published in August, which showed that road casualties were 6 per cent higher than in the same quarter of 2024.

Responding to the Welsh Government Statement on ‘The Future of the Crown Estate in Wales’, I quoted the Secretary of State for Wales, who told the UK Parliament that the devolution of the Crown Estate “would not automatically lead to more money for the Welsh Government”.

This further devolution would be both unnecessary and unsafe.

Questioning the Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Planning, I highlighted a report detailing the economic benefits delivered by the Nuclear sector and asked what steps the Welsh Government is taking to secure the development of a new nuclear facility at Wylfa on Ynys Môn.

Responding to the Welsh Government Statement on ‘The Prohibition of Greyhound Racing (Wales) Bill’, I noted that 98.93 per cent of dogs racing at stadiums regulated by the Greyhound Board of Great Britain were not injured and that domestic pet dogs are just as likely to be injured on UK roads and in dog-on-dog attacks.

I Chaired meetings of the Senedd Public Accounts and Public Administration Committee, and the Cross-Party Autism Group.

Other meetings included the Cross-Party Group on Armed Forces and Cadets, and SOGS Denbigh SAVE OUR GREEN SPACES.

Other Senedd engagements included ‘Wear it Pink for Breast Cancer Now’ event, meeting young people from North Wales at the Barnardo’s Cymru ‘Celebrating children and young people’s voices’ event, and the launch of mapping platform Public Map, showcasing the project on Ynys Môn.

I joined ColegauCymru/CollegesWales on visits to Coleg Cambria Deeside Campus, Grwp Llandrillo Menai’s Rhyl Campus, and the Surgery in Old Colwyn; and visited the Maximus office in Wrexham, to discuss their work supporting disabled, long-term unemployed and economically inactive people to find and sustain employment; the 50+ Action Group (Flintshire) International Day of Older People event in Connah’s Quay Civic Hall; and Asda Queensferry’s ‘TickledPink’ Breast Cancer Awareness Month fundraiser.
