Members of the public have been praised by Police Scotland for saving a man’s life after he suffered serious injuries in a fall near a subway station in Glasgow.

At around 7.45pm on Monday, emergency services were called to an injured man who had fallen onto a fence near Bridge Street Station.

Police Scotland believes the “vital first aid” provided by nearby members of the public and officers saved the 30-year-old’s life.

A spokesperson said: “Around 7.45pm yesterday, a 30-year-old man suffered a serious injury after falling onto a fence near Bridge Street Subway Station.

“Members of the public and nearby police officers quickly came to his aid, providing vital first aid which undoubtedly saved his life.

“We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who assisted at the scene.”
