Although we’re still in early autumn and conditions are mild, the weather is expected to take a dip in a couple of weeks.

According to maps from WX Charts, snow could arrive on Friday, October 24.

A total of eight counties in England could be hit that day – including two in the Midlands – with weather charts turning purple.

Around 2cm of snowfall is expected to descend on Staffordshire and Shropshire.

Other counties in England that could experience snowfall that day is Cheshire, Derbyshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire.

Meanwhile, parts of central Wales and northern Scotland could be hit.

The Met Office warned that showers could take place in the period between October 23 and November 6.

Some rainfall could be heavy.

In its long-range forecast from October 23 to November 6, the Met Office said: “This period is likely to see changeable conditions across the UK with low pressure systems tending to dominate.

“Showers or longer spells of rain are likely at times, perhaps heavy in places.

“Temperatures will probably be close to normal.”
