Molly Gregory began nail tech life as a mobile pro, upon qualifying in 2018. After deciding that she wanted a base to work from, she successfully applied to work at a local nail salon, where she stayed until late 2020.

After having her son in 2021, Molly ‘made the leap to being self-employed’. She grew her client base until, in July 2024, she sadly lost her grandad to motor neurone disease.

“I began seeing my nan every week to ensure she wasn’t lonely,” Molly explains. “After many discussions we decided that I would build a home salon in her garden, which would allow me to expand my business and see her everyday. It was a win-win situation!”

And thus, Nails By Mol was born.

“I wanted to keep the salon neutral and welcoming, with a warm and homely feel,” Molly says of the space’s décor. “I love having my own space, which is quiet and warm. My clients say the aesthetic helps alleviate anxiety about coming somewhere new.”

Nails By Mol encourages parents to carve out time for themselves while caring for their children. “Being a mum, I know how hard it can be to find time for yourself, and my hope is that parents never feel ashamed to bring their children to appointments. I want them to feel welcome and understood,” Molly shares.

The pro offers builder gel, gel polish, hard gel and gel extension services. “My most popular treatment is builder gel manicures, closely followed by gel extensions,” Molly notes. “I have used Glitterbels Builder Gel for many years and Naio Nails Urban Graffiti Gel Polish has an extensive range of colours.”

Looking to the future, Molly hopes to continue growing her client base and social media following, allowing her to ‘flourish as a content creator’. “My dream is to open a training academy where I can deliver nail art and application education,” she says.
