Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale has seen a new feud kick off for the Kings and the Tates after a brawl ensued. In tonight’s episode, Nicola King and Dawn Fletcher received a worrying call from their children’s school. Dawn was shocked to learn that her son Lucas had hit Nicola’s Carl and tried to get to the bottom of their fight.

While Nicola blamed Dawn’s personal life and affair with Joe Tate on Lucas’s behaviour, Dawn attempted to get her son to apologise to Carl.

She and Lucas called at the Kings, but Lucas insisted he wouldn’t give an apology.

“I’m not sorry. I’m glad I hit him,” Lucas said.

After Nicola branded him a “jealous little bully”, he and Dawn went home. Nicola told Carl he’d be safe once Lucas got expelled, but Carl didn’t sound too convinced.

Spoilers for the coming weeks previously revealed that there is a huge feud involving the Kings and the Tates that all begins with this school brawl.

While Dawn and Jimmy initially dismisses it as an ordinary fallout between classmates, the truth is much more concerning. In upcoming scenes, the real reason why Lucas hit Carl is set to be exposed.

Carl gets in trouble for sharing an indecent image of Lucas’s sister Clemmie, which is why Lucas got protective of her and reacted violently.

Dawn actor Olivia Bromley recently opened up about the storyline to Soap Scoop, sharing: “I was really shocked when I first read this storyline because the children who are involved in it are so young… It’s a real problem.”

She added: “I also think that [on] this side of the incident photographs, Dawn expected to have more time to be able to prepare her child for going out in the world. I think that’s what’s caught her off guard… I’m really glad we’re doing this story.”

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
