Amsterdam-based Fellos, a digital men’s health clinic, has secured €2,15M in growth capital from strategic investors, including a group of healthcare professionals, Dutch Operator Fund, and Capital Mills.
Based out of Amsterdam, Dutch Operator Fund is an investment fund targeting tech-driven Dutch startups in the pre-seed and seed stages.
The fund, which was launched last year, raised €2M for its first fund – Dutch Operator Fund I, with capital from the founders and a loan from the Seed Business Angel scheme of RVO.
Its investments will range from €75K to €200K, with options for follow-up funding.
Jeroen Bertrams and Sjoerd van Berkel of Dutch Operator Fund I state, “The team is responding to a massive market demand and has proven their approach works in a short time. The rapid growth to 10,000 patients confirms that men are looking for this type of accessible healthcare.”
The announcement comes around eight months after raising €650K in a pre-seed round of funding. The company will use the funds to further expand its healthcare services, enabling even more men to get help for a wide range of health issues.
“With Fellos, we want to lower the barriers for men to access healthcare,” say Fellos founders Sibren Tolsma and Rob Smeitink. “We see that men often wait too long — and unnecessarily — before addressing their symptoms. Our digital approach makes it easier to take the first step toward a solution. This investment enables us to launch new care areas and broaden our mission.”
Fellos: Digital clinic specialising in men’s health
Founded in 2024 by Rob Smeitink and Sibren Tolsma, Fellos is the Netherlands’ first digital clinic specialising in men’s health, providing accessible, high-quality care for those hesitant to visit a GP (general practitioner).
The platform connects patients with BIG-registered doctors and a Dutch partner pharmacy for consultations and prescriptions.
At present, the Dutch platform focuses on three areas where men often face barriers to seeking help:
- Sexual health (such as erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation),
- Skin conditions (acne)
- Hair loss
The company has already helped over 10,000 patients since its inception and aims to support one million people across Europe by 2030.
According to the company, the Netherlands is still lagging behind countries like the UK and Germany when it comes to digital healthcare.
The company aims to close this gap!
Harry van den Brink, one of the medical investors, adds, “I support Fellos’ mission and see the demand for online healthcare growing rapidly. Through Fellos, we offer a valuable addition to the current healthcare landscape and make care more accessible. With my medical background, I hope to make a meaningful contribution.”
