Nathan Patterson made only his eighth league appearance of the season in Everton’s 1-1 draw against Arsenal on the weekend.
In fact, it was Nathan Patterson’s first start of the campaign, with David Moyes putting his trust in the young full-back.
Since his £16m switch from Rangers at the start of 2022, the 15-cap Scotland international has barely had a look in.
Injuries haven’t helped, of course, but Patterson was perhaps a little unfairly treated during Sean Dyche’s reign, with opportunities few and far between.
So, Everton fans were pleased to see him given a proper chance on Saturday and Yerry Mina has now sent him a message.

Moyes urged Nathan Patterson to step up last month, and it would seem he’s responded well in training, given he was awarded a start against the Gunners.
Patterson took to Instagram this morning to post an action shot of his first Everton start of the campaign.
The 23-year-old admitted it had been a ‘tough’ year but was pleased to be back out on the hallowed Goodison Park turf.
“UTFT!! What a feeling to be out there again at Goodison with the fans. Been a tough year.”
Former teammate Yerry Mina sent Patterson three fire emojis in a show of support, whilst Asmir Begovic and Lewis Dobbin also left supportive comments.
Clearly, Patterson is a well-liked member of the dressing room and hopefully this will kickstart his career on Merseyside.
Patterson has chance to grab starting spot at Everton
Seamus Coleman and Ashley Young have been terrific servants for Everton but their time at the club is coming to an end.
The veteran right-backs are out of contract in the summer, so Moyes will be on the lookout for suitable replacements.
That said, Patterson now has the chance to claim their starting spot between now and the end of the season.
If he impresses, perhaps Moyes will think twice about dipping into the transfer market for a big-money fullback.
Patterson has seven games to stake his claim.
