Northern Ireland will host Group A leaders Slovakia in Friday’s World Cup qualifying game in Belfast.

After the 3-1 defeat against Germany, Michael O’Neill’s side are in second in the group and trail Slovakia by three points.

The Falcons, on the other hand, have so far picked up wins over both Germany and Luxembourg.

The World Cup Qualification match between Northern Ireland and Slovakia will be played at Clearer Twist National Stadium at Windsor Park in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

It will kick off at 7:45 pm BST on Friday, October 10, in the UK.

Daniel Ballard, Conor Hazard, Brodie Spencer, Ciaron Brown and Paul Smyth are all back in the squad and available for selection. O’Neill has also recalled Ross McCausland and veteran striker Josh Magennis.

Goalkeeper Pierce Charles remains sidelined due to a shoulder injury, but experienced stand-in Bailey Peacock-Farrell is at hand.

West Brom’s Isaac Price, who scored in the Germany loss, will continue to be involved in attack.

Slovakia team news

David Strelec is Slovakia’s primary threat up front, expected to be supported by Leo Sauer and Lukas Haraslin, as the latter is back in the squad after recovering from injury.

Head coach Francesco Calzona will stick to a familiar XI, including Napoli’s Stanislav Lobotka in midfield, while center-back Milan Skriniar retains the captain’s armband.
