G-Star RAW retail store.
G-Star is expanding its online second-hand platform Rewear to Belgium, Germany, and France. Consumers can buy and sell used G-Star clothing on the marketplace. The expansion follows the launch in the Netherlands in 2023.
Making things last longer
The initiative is part of the denim brand’s Repair–Rewear–Recycle strategy, which focuses on extending the lifespan of clothing. “Our designs are made to last, so we want to make it as easy as possible to extend their lifespan. This expansion marks the next step in our journey towards greater circularity,” the company said.
Users can both offer and purchase items. Those who sell clothing receive a voucher that can be used for new collections as well as other second-hand items.
In addition to Rewear, the brand has introduced additional initiatives in recent years to make clothing last longer. Through Certified Tailors, for example, G-Star provides free repairs in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and South Africa. By 2030, the brand aims to reuse, repair, or recycle one million pairs of jeans.
