Scotland head coach Steve Clarke has called up Hibs midfielder Josh Mulligan and Rangers’ Connor Barron as replacements for the suspended pair Lewis Ferguson and Ryan Christie for Sunday’s World Cup qualifier against Belarus.
Yellow cards for Ferguson and Christie in Thursday’s 3-1 win over Greece mean both will serve a one-match suspension for the game at Hampden.
This has forced Clarke to bring in reinforcements to increase his midfield options.
It is a first senior call-up for 22-year-old Mulligan, who has been in impressive form for Hibs after moving from Dundee this summer.
Rangers 23-year-old Barron has one cap, having made his debut as a substitute in the June friendly win over Liechtenstein.
Thursday’s victory over Greece leaves the national team sitting in second place on goal difference at the halfway stage of the campaign.
