Denise Austin has barely changed in 30 years!

The workout queen, 68, who rose to stardom thanks to her line of exercise tapes and DVDs that got millions of Americans moving, went on to become a staple of the movement for activity and even served as a member of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Demonstrating that she’s still going strong these days, Austin took to Instagram to post a side-by-side photo of herself sporting one of her iconic blue leotards from back in the day. Paired with blue socks and high-top sneakers, it’s safe to say that the exercise entrepreneur has barely changed in three decades.

“Flashback Friday!!! Then and Now!! LONGEVITY BABY!! It’s so much fun to re-live these incredible memories!!! I wore this leotard over 30 years ago while filming my TV show, and WOW i am so HAPPY I saved it!!!!” Denise captioned the side-by-side photo, which showed her in a lunge position with her arms behind her, and her blonde hair tied back in a ponytail. “I feel just as great in it now as I did back then!! That’s why I believe so much in daily movement!! Exercising regularly, even if it’s just going on a walk, can work wonders for your health!!! You deserve to always feel your best…Because YOU are worth it!!! Love you all, Denise. Xoxo.”

Denise’s Daughter is Taking After Her Mom

Denise’s daughter, Katie Austin, is demonstrating that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Katie is a workout entrepreneur just like her mom. She even created an app, KA Daily, that provides daily workouts, as well as nutrition and life advice.

The duo appeared in a Women’s Health spread together in 2023.

Why Staying Active Over 50 is So Important

Austin is feeling better than ever at 68. But she also wants others to understand how important it is to stay active as they age.

“It’s all about our health,” she told AARP back in 2023. “This is the time that you need to take good care of yourself, and wellness is so important.”

Austin continued, noting that while exercise benefits you physically, it also has mental benefits.

“It will make you feel better, number one. Also, exercise is known to help with depression. It helps with, of course, improving your cardiovascular system, and muscle tone is the key. That’s why I do muscle conditioning exercises because, as we age, we lose muscle tone if we don’t use it,” she noted.
