Former Manchester United footballer Dion Dublin has announced an unlikely new career move in the form of an upcoming show.
Dion, 56, played for United between 1992 and 1994. He also spent a large part of his career playing for Coventry City and Aston Villa, and he was part of England’s World Cup squad in 1998.
Having retired from professional football in 2008, Dion has continued to be a part of the sport as a regular TV pundit. He has also served on the board of Cambridge United since 2021.
Dion, who is also a TV presenter of Homes Under The Hammer, has now announced that he will be fronting up a special show in Manchester next year that will showcase the best of funk, soul and Motown.

Held in aid of The Dianne Oxberry Trust, which provides vital support to families affected by cancer across the North West, the show will take place at Albert Hall on February 19, 2026.
Dion will host proceedings on the night, with music coming from eleven-piece band Fillet-o-Soul, made up of musicians who regularly form part of Jools Holland’s Rhythm & Blues Orchestra and the Strictly Come Dancing band.
During the show, for which tickets go on sale Friday (October 17) via the likes of See Tickets, the band will play a range of ‘timeless grooves, irresistible beats and the joyful spirit of Motown classics’.
Dion, who is originally from Leicester, was brought up surrounded by music as both of his parents were musicians. As well as being a talented percussionist and songwriter, Dion is also the inventor of The Dube – a percussion instrument that has now been used by the likes of Ed Sheeran and Sting.

Whilst Dion not be performing during the Manchester show, he has proceeded over details to ensure it will be a night of music not to be missed and will be presenting on stage throughout the gig.
