The teenager’s predicament has caused tension within her family, which escalated when her brother Leo was hospitalised after taking an ecstasy pill that she accidentally dropped. Meanwhile, this week will see April forced into another sickening situation when she is trapped in a hotel room with an associate of Ray’s.

The upcoming special episode will pick up with April still at the mercy of the dangerous criminals. Emmerdale will explore the damaged relationship between April and her worried father Marlon, as he fights to save his child and keep his family together.

Elsewhere, the second special episode will give viewers an insight into Robert’s recent incarceration, which saw him serving six years after killing rapist Lee Posner, before he was released from prison earlier this year.

Ever since Robert’s return, he has been fairly quiet about his time inside, though it was revealed that he was suffering from nightmares and PTSD. However, last month saw the shocking arrival of Robert’s secret husband Kev, proving there’s more to his prison life than he’s willing to let on.

The third special episode will focus on Bear, who was last seen on screen in July when he left the village after an argument with his son Paddy. Bear said he was visiting a friend in Ireland but he was later seen roaming the countryside, while apparently living in his car.

Since then, viewers have been worried about Bear’s whereabouts, as the character is gearing up for a huge new storyline.

The upcoming special will reveal what happened during the past one hundred days that Bear has been missing from our screens. Viewers will learn of the sad but common situation that the older generation often become trapped in.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
