Uniqlo is marking another milestone in its rapid UK expansion with the opening of its first West Midlands store in Birmingham’s Bullring tomorrow.
The launch follows a string of record-breaking financial results for its parent company Fast Retailing, which last week reported its fourth consecutive year of record earnings, bolstered by strong international sales across Europe and North America.
The new 1,000-square-metre, three-storey store brings Uniqlo’s full LifeWear collection to Birmingham for the first time, offering clothing for men, women and children.

“Located in the heart of Birmingham’s vibrant shopping district, our new Bullring store provides the ideal setting to present our LifeWear collection to the city’s wonderfully diverse community,” said Alessandro Dudech, Chief Operating Officer at Uniqlo UK “It also allows us the opportunity to collaborate with local creatives and organisations that truly reflect Birmingham’s distinctive character.”
Inside the store, shoppers will find Uniqlo’s latest innovations, including Puffertech outerwear, soft Souffle yarn knits and the cult-favourite Round Mini Shoulder Bag. Beyond product, the retailer is championing Birmingham’s creative community with several local collaborations.
Independent bookshop How Brave is the Wren has designed a reading nook for families, hosting Storytime sessions every Saturday throughout October and November.
The Japanese retailer is also renewing its partnership with Girls On The Go, a wellness collective that will host weekly community walks and empowerment events during the opening weekend. As part of a long-term social impact initiative, the brand has announced a new partnership with Smart Works, the UK charity helping women into employment.

Art also takes centre stage at the new store. Local artists UUendy Lau and Hinz Pak have transformed the staircase with a striking three-storey mural titled Spirit of Birmingham. The duo’s designs, along with exclusive artwork from How Brave is the Wren, Girls On The Go, and The Henna Gateway, are also available at the UTme! counter, where customers can personalise T-shirts and tote bags.
The new store is part of Uniqlo’s wider UK expansion drive, with new openings confirmed for Bristol and Leeds in 2026. The two-storey, 14,638 sq ft Bristol store will bring LifeWear to the South West for the first time at Cabot Circus, while the 11,840 sq ft Leeds store will take over a prime site on Briggate, the city’s main shopping street.
