A man has appeared charged with attempted murder after a ‘hit and run’ near the home of a member of the notorious Daniel crime clan in Glasgow.

A 51-year old pedestrian was rushed to hospital after allegedly being struck by the vehicle on Dalsetter Avenue in Drumchapel on Monday, October 13.

Mark Philip Hughes, 49, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court today charged with attempted murder, assault to injury and to the danger of life. He was also charged with failing to stop and report an accident.

He made no plea, was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

He is expected to appear again within eight days.

The incident came after a man was rushed to hospital in a separate nearby attack on Friday.

Officers in forensic suits were seen combing Kelly Bo’s property before removing two dogs.

Images taken on Tuesday, showed Drumchapel Road remained taped off after cops scoured the scene for clues.

The condition and age of the man who was attacked is not currently known.

Kelly Bo is the daughter of late crime lord Jamie Daniel and the cousin of now family boss Steven ‘Bonzo’ Daniel.

In May, the Record reported her home was targeted by firebomb hoods as part of a gangland turf war, while her and Gerbil’s youngest son was inside.

An underworld source said at the time: “Gerbil’s boy was in the house when this happened. The Daniel family are priority targets in the gang war and this particular attack will have made a lot of people smile all across Scotland.

“Gerbil was a bully and a thief and made so many enemies so a lot of people will be happy to see this happen. Kelly isn’t well liked either and has a horrible attitude, like the rest of them.”
