The roof of the building has been left destroyed following the blaze, which gripped the premises on Friday morning.
A huge blaze has gutted a church building in Glasgow following an inferno in the early hours of this morning.
Firefighters raced to the blaze at Christ Apostolic Church on the city’s Govan Road on Friday morning. The religious building is understood to have gone up in flames overnight.
It is currently unknown if there are any injuries. Images from the scene show the inferno gripping the building near the city centre.
Flames were pictured ravaging the roof as smoke billowed into the sky.

Other images show the smouldering aftermath of the fire, with the roof of the building completely destroyed.
Firefighters were pictured watering down the charred remains of the premises on Friday afternoon.
A height vehicle and police were pictured in attendance while the area was cordoned off.
Glasgow City Council confirmed that the area remains closed.

Govan Road has been closed off between Craigiehall Place and Lorne Street.
Motorists have been told to find alternative routes.
A spokesperson for Glasgow Council’s Traffic Control and Management told Glasgow Live: “Govan Road between Craigiehall Place and Lorne Street is currently closed to all traffic due to an unsafe building caused by fire. Emergency services are on location.
“Road users are advised to avoid the area and consider alternative routes.”

Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have been approached for comment.
