A woman who has been missing for four months was last seen in Liverpool. Appeals to find Fatin Alshemeri have appeared on digital advertising boards in Merseyrail stations in the last few weeks.

The appeal is from Missing People, a charity that specialises in providing support to both people who have disappeared or at risk of going missing, and to the families and friends left behind. It was founded in 1993 by sisters Mary Asprey OBE and Janet Newman OBE. The organisation says Fatin has been missing since July 25 2025. She was 67 at the time of her disappearance.

A message from Missing People says: “Fatin we are here for you whenever you are ready; we can listen, talk you through what help you need, pass a message for you and help you to be safe.”

No formal appeal for Fatin has been issued by Merseyside Police at the time of writing. A spokesperson for the force said this is because she is not considered high risk.

Fatin’s disappearance has been logged at Merseyside Police’s missing persons unit. Any sightings of Fatin that are reported will be reviewed and actioned on by officers.

The ECHO has asked Merseyside Police and Missing People where in Liverpool Fatin was last seen and what she was wearing.

You can report sightings of Fatin or any other missing person to the police here.

You can also report sightings of Fatin to Missing People by calling or texting 116000, with the reference number 25-005557. You can also visit the website here.

The ECHO included Fatin in a round-up last week of 18 people from Merseyside who have disappeared and never been found.

This included Trevor Farthing, who was 52-years-old when he went missing eight years ago on June 21, 2017.

Trevor was wearing a khaki green T-shirt and blue denim jeans when he was last seen. The dad-of-three was last seen leaving a corner shop on Marshalls Cross Road in St Helens, at around 9.30am.

His partner, Marie Comber, issued a fresh appeal to find Trevor in September. She told the ECHO: “Every day is a struggle not knowing. He was my other half. We did everything together. It still breaks my heart up not knowing.

“The girls miss him. But it’s one of them – you’ve still got to get up and get on with it.

“There’s no closure. We don’t know what’s happened to him. Is he still going strong? Did something happen to him? We just don’t know. I couldn’t force him to come home and that’s his choice. But it would be nice to know, for me and his daughters, that he’s okay.”

There is also the disappearance of teenager Mark Garvey who vanished from a Queens Drive bus stop after he had an argument with his girlfriend. Missing since March 1987, his family have spoken to the ECHO about their hopes for Mark’s future.

More recently, there was the disappearance of Carol Mighall – a nan from Birkenhead – who has left both her family and investigating detectives stumped as to where she is. Her daughter previously told the ECHO it was “like an alien had zapped her up”.
