A huge new festival is coming to Liverpool as Christmas celebrations take over the city. The Liverpool Winter Festival will take place at the Pier Head from Friday, November 21 until Monday, January 5 with Christmas markets, ice skating and a GRINCHMAS grotto takeover.

The magical Christmas event will be in front of the stunning backdrop of the Three Graces and city’s waterfront. There is set to be a 65m star flyer offering incredible views of the city centre and neighbouring River Mersey.

One of the event’s biggest attractions is a giant ice rink, with a skate with Grinch experience available to book. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

The event will host Christmas markets for visitors to explore, as well as a Bavarian bar and cosy tipis to take a break from the festive fun. There will be a VIP tipi bar experience for group bookings or work Christmas parties which can be booked in advance.

The event has two Grotto experiences for visitors to choose from including GRINCHMAS Grotto Takeover and Christmas Tale with Santa Claus.

The Christmas Tale with Santa Claus includes an interactive session with Santa and his chief elf and photo opportunity.

Kids can enjoy the Baltic Circle Adventure Golf, Candy Cane Bungee Trampolines, Après Ski Party Ride and Santa’s Sleigh Coaster.

The event will also host live entertainment and music.

The latest addition to Liverpool’s Christmas calendar will run alongside the city’s Christmas Markets.

The much-loved market is a winter highlight across the city and is set to make its return to St George’s Plateau on Saturday, November 15.
