This comes as part of Health Literacy Month, aimed at boosting confidence when discussing health matters.

The NHS board encourages using the BRAN method: Benefit, Risk, Alternatives, and Nothing, to ask about treatments and make informed decisions.

Dr Emilia Crighton, director of public health at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, said: “Empowering patients to be more in charge of their care and more involved in decisions about their treatment is one of our priorities.

“Knowing the right questions to ask is a large part of that.”

They also recommend seeking help at your local library’s Health and Wellbeing Hub.

This hub has trained staff to assist in accessing reliable NHS and community resources.

More resources are available on the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde website.
