Meliá Hotels International and the MiM chain, owned by Leo Messi, have announced a strategic alliance that marks a milestone in the hotel sector. From 1 November, Messi’s six hotels, five in Spain and one in Andorra, will be managed under The Meliá Collection, a brand that brings together unique luxury hotels in iconic destinations.

The MiM hotels, located in Sitges, Ibiza, Mallorca, Baqueira Beret, Sotogrande and Andorra, have become consolidated for their ability to reflect the footballer’s imprint through exclusive details such as the Messi Suite or the replica of the Golden Ball signed by the footballer himself.

With interiors designed by leading names such as Luis Bustamante and Lázaro Rosa-Violán, each establishment combines contemporary design with a firm commitment to sustainability, endorsed by international LEED certification. Its proposal is completed with wellness experiences and, in the cases of Baqueira, Andorra and Sotogrande, with signature cuisine signed by the chef Nandu Jubany.

Gabriel Escarrer, Chairman and CEO of Meliá, underlined that the strength of this alliance lies in the complementary nature of the portfolios, which will allow the MiM hotels to maintain their distinctive character while benefiting from Meliá’s international reach, marketing and loyalty system.
