Can Cleo and Sienna put aside the Dodger situation? (Picture: Lime Pictures)
Hollyoaks star Nadine Mulkerrin and Anna Passey have weighed in on Cleo McQueen and Sienna Blake’s relationship in the wake of the unexpected Dodger Savage (Danny Mac) twist.
Dodger, as viewers know, was led to believe by serial killer Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield) that sister Sienna was the one responsible for claiming the lives of various villagers.
While investigating the case and branding his twin sibling a murderer, the detective started to fall for Sienna’s girlfriend Cleo, with the two sharing a passionate kiss.
While Cleo was adamant that Sienna wasn’t capable of murder (though RIP Ethan Williams), she has been riddled with guilt over her mistake with Dodger – and has thought about whether or not to tell Sienna.
Discussing what’s to come for the couple, Nadine told Metro: ‘The relationship is tested – there is this big elephant in the room with the Dodger kiss.
‘It’s really clever the way it’s been done – it’s not like your typical love triangle. As you can imagine, Sienna is a little bit possessive and jealous sometimes [laughs] but she loves Cleo.’

Nadine was hopeful for a positive outcome for the beloved couple, hoping that the story will end result with Sienna and Cleo being ‘a very strong team.’
The Cleo star also promised some ‘great scenes’ when Cleo has to give birth to her and Joel Dexter’s (Rory Douglas-Speed) baby.
Joel, as viewers know, made his final appearance earlier this month after being transferred to a prison away from the village. Discussing Cleo and Joel’s ever-present connection, Nadine said: ‘The Joel thing is always going to be bubbling in the background.
‘I thought it was cool that they both went their separate ways but they always find a way to come back together.’

However, Nadine was adamant that Joel and Cleo aren’t meant for one another. ‘I think her and Sienna are [meant to be]’.
Clienna has gone down a storm with Hollyoaks fans. The couple shared their first kiss in February and the storylines haven’t stopped coming for them in the months since.
‘I thought [the fans] might like it, I’m not going to lie’, enthused Nadine. ‘You go into it when you’re paired with a new person, you think: ‘Right let’s try really hard.’
‘Because if the audience dig it then it’s good for everyone. Sometimes the writers are led by audience reaction – and that scene in the shower, we really took our time with it and had a brilliant director.

‘It was iconic – you knew when you were filming it that this is pretty cool. And you weren’t expecting the kiss at the end. From the of, the fans were on to it. Anna was so professional and great to work with – we work hard on it and the fans are enjoying it.’
Nadine isn’t the only one who is a fan of all-things Clienna, with co-star Anna also sharing her enthusiasm for the couple.
‘I’ve always been such a massive fan of Nadine’s work,’ she told Metro on the red carpet at a screening for Hollyoaks’ 30th anniversary. ‘I love her. Every storyline I’ve seen her do, I’ve just thought: “She’s incredible”.
But we didn’t really have too much together and I didn’t really see ways we could have storylines, and then [Exec Producer] Hannah said: “We’re going to put you guys together in a storyline”
I thought: “I wonder what we’ll get up to!”. I didn’t expect what we would get up to! I would never have pitched it or thought of it but oh my gosh do I love it.
‘What I love is that Sienna brings out a bit more independence in Cleo, I feel like she’s a bit tougher. I love seeing that in her – and I think Cleo really softened Sienna, so I just think it works so beautifully.’
Hollyoaks streams Mondays to Wednesdays from 6am on Channel 4’s streaming platform, or catch episodes on TV at 7pm on E4.
