Liverpool’s Epstein Theatre is the setting for a powerful celebration of courage, unity, and hope, honouring those living with secondary breast cancer. Celebrity Leanne Campbell is the host of This is Me which is taking place at the city centre venue on Saturday, October 25 to raise funds for Fighting to be Heard.
Fighting to be Heard was born in 2021 as a powerful movement brought together by two women, Lisa Fleming and Kathryn Orr, to amplify the voices of those living with secondary breast cancer. The campaign captured 20 remarkable women in a striking photoshoot captured by the then Liverpool-based award-winning creative team, Sane Seven.
What started as a heartfelt campaign has since grown into a registered charity officially launched on The Real Housewives of Cheshire in 2023 thanks to the support of Seema Malhotra who will also be attending Saturday’s event.

Since its inception, the charity has awarded more than £130,000 in grants to people living with an incurable diagnosis, offering vital financial assistance to those who need it most. The majority of the money awarded is used to help patients cover essential food and utility bills, providing real and immediate relief to families facing the daily challenges of living with secondary breast cancer.
This is Me is billed as a night of music and reflection brought together by Clare Graham, of Extreme Dance Company, and Rosalie Galvin, who has co-ordinated the line-up of singers. Marketing graduate Ava Tobin oversaw the event design, visuals, decorations and social media.

This poignant evening will also honour the seven women lost since the original iconic campaign image was taken — including three local women Gill Corry, from Southport, co founder of the charity, Kate Enell, and Suzanne Williamson.
A highlight of the night will be the official launch of the Fighting to be Heard book which shares the moving stories of many of the original women featured in the 2021 image, alongside new members who have since joined the charity. Funds raised will go directly towards Fighting to be Heard’s Winter Grants Programme, providing essential financial assistance to patients living with secondary breast cancer across the UK.
Fighting to be Heard chair Kathryn Orr said: “I am so very proud of everyone who has brought this event to fruition. Our sponsors have been incredibly supportive — especially our headliners, Moira O’Shaughnessy of FPC, who rallied so much support, and Mick Quinn from MJ Quinn Ltd, who so generously covered the cost of the Epstein Theatre.
“I am also so proud to be launching our book tonight — a moment that should have happened in 2024. After the devastating loss of my two co-founders, Gill Corry from Southport and Kate Rackham from Manchester, and then our dear Kate Enell from Crosby, our charity understandably fell silent for a time.
“Thanks to the incredible strength of our supporters and my right-hand woman, Laura Shutt, along with our dedicated friends and trustees — Nikki Williams, Lisa Jones, Rob Shutt, Sean Snape, Steven Nyland, Mark Rackham — and our wider charity family, we have continued.
“I couldn’t be prouder. Most importantly, we are hoping to raise as much money as possible for our Winter Grants which support those living with secondary breast cancer during the toughest months. We have given approximately £130,000 to date and, as the cost-of-living crisis continues, the need for our charity sadly remains.”
Leanne Campbell said: “I am privileged to have stood alongside the charity from the very beginning. I have a deep personal connection because my best friend Suzanne was in the original image and I know how much it meant to her. All the ladies who give their precious time to help others in the same situation are truly inspirational.
“Liverpool should be so proud of the ladies running it from our city. They are supporting secondary breast cancer charities right across the UK and I am absolutely delighted to be hosting this special evening.”
Seema Malhotra added: “Meeting the incredible women behind Fighting to be Heard has truly inspired me. I met them back in April 2022 . Since we met I have been on a journey with these truly inspirational women . From doing a fashion shoot to a fashion show debut on The Real Housewives of Cheshire.
“Their strength, courage, and determination to raise awareness of secondary breast cancer is remarkable. What began as a campaign has grown into a powerful movement and now, through their new book, their voices will reach even further.”
The event is being backed by headline sponsors MJ Quinn Limited and Moira O’Shaunassy from FPC.
