We’ve become rather fond of asking our dear Secret London followers to share with us their thoughts, feelings and findings on the capital city. Because, well… it’s become abundantly clear that you lovely lot have plenty of them. Last week, we asked you to put your two cents in on which London borough is the best of the bunch. But this week, we’re talking all things landmarks.
We made it slightly easier for you this time, and instead of giving you complete free reign (we learnt our lessons the hard way, to be quite honest with you), we gave you four legendary London landmarks to choose from. And I’m sure that you’re all on the edge of your seat to find out which of them has been crowned the most iconic of all. So, without further ado, here are the results.

It was actually a surprisingly close race, but after twenty-four hours of letting the Secret Londoners have their say, there was a clear front runner. And topping the charts as the most iconic landmark in the capital city is Tower Bridge. London’s most beloved bridge earnt itself 36% of the vote. The rather majestic monument has been towering (see what I did there?) over the River Thames for over 130 years, and still attracts visitors from near and far to this very day.
It’s got a rather impressive acting CV, having been featured in a whole host of movies and TV shows. And so it comes as no real surprise that it’s been voted the most iconic landmark in the city. Coming in at second place with 26% of the vote is the Palace of Westminster. Buckingham Palace nabbed the third spot with 23% of the vote. And the Tower of London got just 16% of the vote.
So, what do you reckon? Did the Secret Londoners get it spot on, or are you (in the words of Kate Garraway) flabbergasted by the results? Either way, if you want to have your say during our next poll, keep your eyes peeled on our Instagram page, as there’ll be more coming soon.
