An air ambulance lands in Bootle

An air ambulance landed in the middle of a roundabout today, April 26, as medics dealt with a medical emergency. The helicopter landed late this morning on the grass-covered roundabout at the junction of Southport Road and Aintree Road in Bootle.

An eyewitness told the ECHO she saw the air ambulance leave the area at around 12pm. Another neighbour said that prior to the air ambulance landing, he saw several police vehicles and two ambulances on Aintree Road.

We do not yet know the nature of the incident. The ECHO has contacted the North West Ambulance Service for information on what happened.
