Benjamin Sesko has reacted to Manchester United’s 4-2 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday evening. The Reds’ victory over Fabian Hurzeler’s team was their third consecutive win, following wins over Liverpool last weekend and Sunderland before the October international break.

United began strongly as they took a 2-0 lead through a curler from Matheus Cunha and a deflected effort by Casemiro. The match seemed all but won when Bryan Mbeumo scored his first goal of the game, beating Bart Verbruggen at his near post.

However, Brighton weren’t ready to throw in the towel just yet. After Patrick Dorgu narrowly escaped a red card, Danny Welbeck came back to haunt his former club by scoring from the resulting free kick.

The Old Trafford atmosphere turned tense when Charalampos Kostoulas headed in at the near post from a corner. But it was Ayden Heaven’s precise through ball to Mbeumo that sealed the deal, with the Cameroonian firing home and celebrating in front of the Stretford End.

And Sesko has shown his true colours by choosing to focus on the team and their mentality after grabbing his first assist for United.

“Great team win, great mentality!” he said in a post on Instagram, alongside several pictures of him in action on Saturday.

“Happy for my first assist in Red! We keep going!”

Amorim was asked how important the victory was and said: “It was really important, also the performance, we had to play different games in different moments of the game.

“And I think the players understood really well what to do in every moment. We had to suffer a bit at the end, it wouldn’t be Manchester United without a bit of suffering, but we deserved the win against a very good team, a team that is hard to press against high, but we did really well.

“I think they [the players] are more confident, the best game we did this season was against Arsenal. But then when you are confident, you have a different spirit, that helps you to win games. That’s what I’m feeling now. We’re a little bit more free. Last week we are a bit more luck because of that.”

He added: “I have that feeling [that Brighton is a bigger win than Liverpool], I think it was a more complete performance. You can say whatever you want to say against Liverpool, but Liverpool did not deserve to win that game. Today we did everything. We had the ball and created chances.

“We defend high, we defend low and when it’s more complete, it’s not a statement, but I feel more complete as a manager. So today, I liked it more today than the last weekend.”
