Unai Emery has confirmed that Marcus Rashford suffered a hamstring injury ahead of Aston Villa’s FA Cup semi-final against Crystal Palace.
The winger could now be sidelined for “weeks”, though he would have been unavailable for the final game of the season against Manchester United regardless, as he is on loan.
Villa face Fulham next Saturday, then travel to Bournemouth the following weekend, before hosting Tottenham Hotspur in three weeks’ time.
“He is injured,” Emery confirmed. “He got injured this week. It is his hamstring.
“We are going to test him each match to see how he is progressing. Probably some weeks that he can be not available.”
Rashford has made 17 appearances for Villa since joining on loan from United at the start of February.
Villa hold a £40 million option to sign Rashford permanently this summer, although reports suggest he is seeking Champions League football next season.
