The long-range weather forecast from the Met Office for the UK from October 31 to November 9 reads: “The end of October and first part of November is likely to be changeable with low pressure patterns tending to dominate, bringing spells of unsettled weather across the UK.
“This will mean showers or longer periods of rain will spread across most parts of the UK during this period.
“Some heavy rain is possible in all regions, but the largest totals will probably be across western areas. Strong winds are also likely at times, with a risk of gales.
“Between weather systems some short lived dry and bright intervals may develop, which bring the risk of overnight fog and frost.
“Temperatures overall though will probably be close to or slightly above average for the time of year.”
