A family-friendly pub in Greater Manchester has reopened to the public after undergoing a major six-figure makeover.

The Parsonage, located in Leigh, Wigan, reopened on October 24, and will offer new opportunities for pub goers throughout the remainder of the year.

Located in Parsonage Retail Park just a short walk from Leigh Sports Village, the Hungry Horse pub – part of pub company and brewer Greene King – offers a new experience for punters following the renovation.

Key features of the makeover include the transformation of the pub’s interior with an open plan restaurant, an extended bar area, new furniture and a bright new colour scheme.

The Parsonage has also introduced a new self-serve coffee machine so guests can help themselves to a hot beverage during their visit to the pub.

Following the investment, the Parsonage’s sports viewing offering has been increased with the installation of upgraded TV and sound systems, providing sports enthusiasts with the ultimate spot to keep up with the latest fixtures across Sky Sports and TNT Sports.

Those punters with a competitive socialising streak can also challenge friends and family to a game on the pub’s new darts lane.

The Parsonage is offering a brand new seasonal menu this autumn which features Crispy Chicken Strips Nachos, The Smoky Rancher Burger and a Katsu Curry Feast.

Guests will be able to visit The Parsonage from 9am every day, offering a breakfast menu with a wide range of options including a Big Brekkie Roll, Waffles Benedict and a Frozen Smoothie Bowl.

To celebrate the relaunch, the Parsonage invited regular customers Thelma and Bert Tolley to cut the ribbon marking the pub’s official reopening. The Parsonage also donated to rugby club Leigh RUFC as part of its efforts to support local community initiatives.

Josh Powell, general manager at the Parsonage, said: “We are delighted to be unveiling the Parsonage’s brand-new look and feel this October following a month-long investment.

“We know how much the pub means to the local community, and with a revitalised interior, a delicious new menu and an upgraded sports offering, we are here to serve up fantastic experiences to guests of all ages, no matter the occasion.
